You need to first create a Maxwell Layered Material from Get>Materials, then double click on the Maxwell Layer node in the Render Tree. There you have a button to add an Emitter component. You can find the full SI plugin docs here:

ok, that worked, but has more nodes in the render tree as when I use one from Maxwell directly

I couldn't find back in the Maxwell SI manual how the Texture-Projection-XY in SI can be used to affect the Maxwell tex pos and scale, I know I was able to do that in the past, but not finding back how ... I need to scale the picture down and when I use another maxwell mat I've created, the texture comes very big and the meter wouldn't allow me more than 3 digit when I try to boost up the repeat to over 1000.

Thx,

Well creating a MW material from scratch in SI ofcourse will need more nodes but most of the time you would want to do that, rather than just relying on referenced MXM files.

The tiling is adjusted as usual from the different Image nodes that the RT provides (in your screenshot it's the Scalar image node), or from the MaxwellTexture nodes "Tiles" parameters (although when doing it this way currently SI doesn't let us show that new tiling in the viewport so you have to run a render or a preview using FIRE).
