is it possible to move grid away from center ?

I have found a temp solution by just changing the grid color to
black. I dont know if I can turn grid on/off ?

reason to move the grid:
I have a floor imported lower than than grid & the grid shows in
the middle, I wanted to move the grid keeping the grid at the
same level as the floor

You can't move its position but you can hide it with Alt+G or from the Display menu in a viewport.
