I'm trying to get the light from some candle flame-shaped emitters (with candle wizard emitter settings for color and power) down into the top of a wax candlestick so that the top part of the shaft glows a bit.
I'm using white wax from the community-contributed materials:

I'm getting very opaque results. I assume it's a scale problem.
What should I be focusing on? Big attenuation distances? Small ones? Scattering values?
I don't want to brighten the candles too much. They need to be candle-powered. Visible but not a big influence over the scene lighting.
