So I begrudgingly bought the overpriced upgrade and now the bug reporting starts. Testing two scenes, I've already seen this:

- Maya 2009 SP1a sometimes crashes when getting the render result back from Maxwell.app
- The color space is specified as sRGB but if I set the 32-bit TIFF to sRGB in Nuke, the color shifts to look like the image below.
- Tone mapping for 32-bit images rendered from Maya is off. It sends back this:

So the big question is - can I get $10 back for every bug or crash reported in the first week? Also, what's with the new quicklook plug-ins for OS X? Where I used to get previews of mxm files, I get nothing but a big icon now.

some new problems:
- the Layered Material's Browse Library and MXM Gallery buttons don't do anything.
- My only option for Hardware Texturing of basic Maxwell mats is combined now. I have to use the UV editor to pick another image.

To select an individual texture to be displayed in the viewport, go to the global settings item in the material tree and you will have a dropdown with all the textures. You also have a button called "enable viewport override" in the maxwell rollup of each texture node which does the same thing.

The crash you're seeing when trying to read back the rendered images is a problem with the image library we are using on OSX. See this thread for more details and possible workarounds (the thread is about TGA files, but the problem extends to TIFF as well). We will fix the problem as soon as possible and release a plug-in update.
