Hello,

So I've just upgraded to a quadcore processor this weekend and installed a dual boot config (XP 32 and 64).

To my surprise, when I render the test scene at benchwell.com, rendering with the 32bit version is 31 second FASTER then rendering with the 64bit version.

Since maxwell has native 64 bit support, I thought it should be the other way around. I expected 64bit being somewhat faster. Is this normal?

it's normal--you won't necessarily see a performance increase with a 64bit OS right now, but you will be able to run bigger scenes (provided you have the RAM) and render at higher resolutions

Hope it will be inverted for the next release

64bit should actually be a bit faster than 32b, but not by much. This has also been confirmed by users. Perhaps you are running more services or background tasks on the 64b install?

On benchwell, if varies. But on average i'd say x64 is slightly faster.
