hi !

i'm currently trying to render a nice wine glass.

here's what i have so far as a rough test (SL 17.8 and going on..):

i'm using diffraction, scattering and vignetting... but what causes that ugly blur on the right glass ?

the ground surface is certainly not optimal, but the fact that those highlights are totally blurred is kinda weird to me ..

any idea ?

thx.

I thought you did it like that, and was ready to say bravo.. it happens when the wine's too cold in a warm glass...

:D

hehe.. yes, but for that we'd need a few more sliders and the package would be called maxwell render, the nature simulator.. :)

this is a weird artifact !

it might come from the overly exposed floor.. no..? try to make the floor red.. or jetblack.. and see what happen..

I would suggest a neutral color (gray), and low gloss for the base plane and no frost until you solve the blur issue.

i'll have to check now what that blur was.

So, is this a known issue?
