Anyone have recommendations for a seemless texture generator, either standalone or plugin for photoshop?

I use Imagesynth all the time. It's a plugin for photoshop.

I use FilterForge, it creates seamless textures in any size and format you desire - and it also creates displacementmaps/bumpmaps and any other map you need. There are more than 4800 textures in the gallery, and you can of course create your own.

And then there is TextureMaker - a unique approach with very nice UI.

There is Genetica - a node based generator. They also have a free version of WoodWorkshop to create various woods.

Hi Max, doe's it support multicores?

I can't test at the moment because i got a rendering running, but i would guess it does support multicore hardware. Although it renders so fast it won't put a strain on your hardware. It takes a couple of seconds for a highres texture to be generated seamless with it.

Thanks for the response guys.

Ended up buying ImageSynth, because they had the best demo video

The others would probably just as good, maybe better, but by watching the video I could get a good idea how simple the workflow was without downloading demo software. Hate corrupting my registry with demo software that I don't end up using.

does it support multicores?

That's the bad thing about Imagesynth for Photoshop. Since ps isn't multi-threaded, neither is Imagesynth... Sometimes I have to go do something else while it is working...

wait a min..... Image synth is not a texture generator... all it does is "helping you" making an image seamless...

anyway.. I have Image synth for some time now.. but manual job is always the best... + image synth is no magic... and $99... well lucky I got it free with Modo..
