I've heard that the lifetime of OLED is very short.

If it is true, that is really expensive.

If they overcomed that restriction technically, but even so expensive.

Sandy... I remember plasma screens 7/8 years ago... was about 4000 euros... today you can devide it by 4...

That's the begining... we'll see... but promising, because some years ago all they had was a 3 inches screen..

he he.. I guess nice things are expensive...

Curt, I can imagine good applications for the cockpit designers industry.. (if not just the gain of weight... I mean look at the number of mini screens in a large airplaine... 200...300...? less weight = less kerosen == less pollution...)

H.

Yes indeed!! and also for simulators on moving platforms these kind of displays are really great! so then you can use displays in the cockpit instead of windows! 8)

A great use of OLEDS, or perhaps E-ink would be reusable super flexible newspapers. You would just carry one sheet with you and via wifi download the latest news, from whatever subscriptions you have, when you're on the subway or anywhere you have wifi....you could even get a newspaper with built in video clips :)

well there is a rich newspaper here called "Luxemburger Wort", and they said they will do it... I imagine the millions tons of paper (trees) saved with this system...

look when people read a newspaper... how many pages are they really reading..? 3...4...5... and so all the rest is printed for absolutely nothing... Big waste .... for once this revolution is an evolution...

note : there is a book from ex Bill Clinton white house "assistant"... he's saying Capitalism has made us all Children... I want... I want... is the today's motto..
