I guess I'll finally start some kind of gallery...

Jewlery to start with ....

The only thing I modeled here would be the gold bracelet, ..the 'Eye of Horus' and the rings/brooch are from Robin Ashby, ..a friend.

The scratches in the first one...nice touch. 8) Other subtle things are also good - the 'floor' surface (is there a term for this in jewelry?) materials are working quite nicely.

Love the compositon of the last one - the way its aligned on the square floor.. and the way the first appears to be floating.

I'd love to do some jewellery - what software was used to model them?

Chris, you could indicate through one image the set of your scene? Which type of emitter you have used? Which are the parameters of the camera?

Ciao

Killer. This gallery should be getting way more respect then it's getting! Simply killer.

I hate you...

Thank you for the nice words everyone ...

@Will : Rhino for the modeling, ..it really is near perfect for jewlery/product type stuff.

@ Valerio: The scene is fairly simple, .. I know that sounds cliché, but its true ... The camera is a telephoto macro style lens (200mm / f22). The emitters are 65W cool fluor. presets that are placed on the right and left of the subject . They're about 5 times the width of the bracelet in size. The ground plane(infinite background) is actually a chrome mxm (fairly smooth), the material has an anistrophic and a very fine bump map which along with the DOF help to create the blurred reflections.

Oh, .. I don't know Luis, .. I'd say that every user here has my respect and that's more than enough for me.. There's nothing really special going on here, ..just an adherence to basic camera techniques, lighting & materials. So, ..I'm grateful ....

Thanks bro ... ;)
..and thanks to NL. ;)
