every time i load maxwell on maya 8.5 32bit/vista ult. i get.

no problems using the software though. is vista blocking your sneaky usage tracking or something?

We don't do usage tracking. :) That's the plug-in trying to check if a newer version is available, but the file on the update server is incorrect. We'll fix it as soon as possible, but it's harmless right now. You can turn it off by going to Window -> Rendering Editors -> Maxwell -> Maxwell settings and unchecking "Check automatically" under "Update Notification".
