Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?
#18989
It seems most of us, when rendering stills, use the "cook it until it looks good" method. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think it is possible for animations unless you can have this option :
When rendering a sequence of MXS files, chose to refine 1st scene till lvl1, write msi, then refine second scene to lvl 1, when last scene in sequence reaches level1, resume first scene rendering and go through sequence till all are lvl2, etc. (fprime users, you know what I mean)
With this method, you can just stop your rendering when you think it's ok, or have a fast preview of your animation, etc.
Is it possible already, or will it be possible?

fantastic :)
you can have this effect by using a mxc file...
first you can set -s:1 -mxi:w and render all frames with caching spectral data,
then you can edit mxc as -s:2 -mxi:c and keep rendering them up to a new level...
i'm not sure if this must be automated because it'll take years for a long animation.
