Sh**... first DAZ studio and their models... Then Hexagon 2 for $2 bucks then now Bryce...

Yep their marketing campain is strong on their content.. they are making all the money selling content and it seems to be working just fine. Kudos for them.

Well Bryce 6 has been anounced for a while now.. so that might explain it all. :o)

I've just played with bryce for a few minutes now.. hehe. It isn't how I've remembered it from 9 years ago! Oh my, what a toy. It is amazing how it didn't change a bit in 9 years hehhehe. The difference from Bryce 2 to Bryce 5 is very little.

Kai Krause's masterpiece looked so promising, too bad that Bryce jumped from company to company and no company tried to improved it to keep up with times.

here it worked just fine.. it opens one page on my browser already with the serial number.. I didn't need to type anything.

Make sure your firewall program is not blocking Bryce from opening your browser.

So can Bryce export to obj or so? Maybe it's of use for creating procedural meshed for Maxwell, Bryce renders always looked like that's what it's good at.

with the firewall off, I tried again and...
"an invalid serail number has been encountered. Please reenter your registration information"
Same thing, it doesn't even open my internet browser

Should I restart the pc after turning off the firewall? :?

Well it certainly hasn't changed much over the years, that's for sure!
Might come in handy for quick panoramic sky generation........apart from that I think it'll be just for fun. :)

I was reading DAZ forum talking about Bryce 6 it seems exactly the same.. they are saying that most of the improvements are in re-writing the old code. And getting ready for expansion... And a few render improvements like HDRI support but well... they are light years away (pun intended :o) from renders like Terragen so I think they will be in a limbo until version 10 :o

The only thing I like a lot in bryce and I thing it is very unique (well besides Kai's Interface) is the way the procedurals are set.. it is quite unique and EASY to setup the material procedurals and the materials in general. It was years ahead of its time... It is simply sad to see it the exactly same way today.
