Pavel: I removed them both myself because i was asked to do it. However from a technical point of view they're not that well done. The light/shader setup was rather simple. But it seems i crossed the line when it comes down to the content itself :/

Frances: Good to know, and i kinda guessed it wasn't you Fran. This didn't seem to fit your personality to ask for them to be removed and now it doesn't matter who it is, male or female or something inbetween.

You're probably right about that Fran and well it wasn't meant to offend anyone, i thought this would happen on CGTalk where i also posted both but nooo no reactions like this came from there, more the opposite and there's alot of women on CGTalk.
The images are both on my website so people can find them there, i no longer feel like putting them back up here again, but thanx for your very nice comments Fran, i appreciate them alot.

Joie: Heh, good point. If the guys got offended by a rendering of a naked man then i would consider them a bunch of freaks. I for one love the female body, it's one of the most beautiful creations in the world and nothing's gonna change that!

Max, and everyone else: Regardless of what people's opinions are here, please understand this, there is no way, let me restate this, no FUCKING way that any one will be censored or repressed in any way on OUR (all of ours) website (www.maxwellianart.com). At first, I thought that an "explicit" warning would be neccesary, to stop these kinds of complaints. But I've changed my mind; no warnings are needed. All of us should be free to express ourselves in any way we wish through our art. This goes for renderings, painting, sculpture, music, bonsai plants, WHATEVER.

I don't want to get on a soap box, but here where I live (USA) we are guaranteed the right to free speech. If you don't like what I'm writing, saying, doing, that's your business. But unless it is illegal, my short answer is "fuck off" to the censors. I've done many renders using Poser models in explicit poses to see if I would like to make SLA models from them. I do not share them because they are just form studies. But I would not hesitate to post them if I thought that they communicated something that I wanted to share.

This ABSURDITY with nudity in renders is ridiculus. Especially when one is talking about a FREAKING POSER MODEL. COME ON PEOPLE, these are CARTOONS for crying out loud, not pictures of your wife-sister-mother. Grow up already...

I guess we can't be surprised... some countries have undergone revolutionary changes based on the lack of freedom (including freedom of expression) It's a pretty touchy subject.

Most artists I find are more socially aware as well (observation) thus to have art censured makes us want to strangle the nearest person even resembling extreme fundamentalism..

Mike: It's good to see you made up your mind about the website you're running and you're right about what you say too regarding censorship and nudity. Also about the use of Poser models, they're not real humans and further more this was a stylized cartoon model. Then my Spock model should also be censored due to it's extreme Trekkieness hehe
I just figured it would be nice to break the archi type pattern on this forum by doing something completly different, however i never in my worst nightmares expected it to turn out into this soap opera and drama. Now i almost feel bad for it.. :/

There are far worse things in the world to get upset and annoyed about and this is not one of those things, atleast not in my book. I can understand if it upsets you who work as artists for a living and produce stuff everyday to get food on your table. But for me it don't matter in the same way (until that day i too work as a pro..)
