I like the 4th pic from the top, its quite different, new technologies need to be pushed to learn what they can achieve, its great that ur pushing it, well done

Thanks guys,

The render crashed as it approached 20 samples and the glass never did clear up. There wasn't much difference between the 24hr render and the 12hr one.

I may still consider going back to the light pillar idea. :)

Nice detail on the accent table !

On a side note: Where is your other bathroom scene ? (I thought that was one your best ever).

In the scenes where you use a green backdrop, I think it would be better to use a pretty neutral color, almost white, or a light beige if a warm look is required, so it doesn't interfere so much with the color of the object. If you want to show someone how a couch will look, most people's perception of the object will depend heavily on the coloring and shading. They don't automatically think, oh that's just light coming from the backdrop, it doesn't actually have a green tint.

If you want subtle color variations in the shadows I think it's better to do it with different colored lights.

Thanks everyone. Mihai, the comment about the green backdrop has been brought up by others, so it has some merit. :)

Thanks Chris. Here is a link to the side table from Tucker Robbins. It's called Spiders Nest and originated in Cameroon.

This was really hard to model, mainly because I couldn't figure out what the best approach was. I ended up using the Splop command in Rhino4 and saving it back to V3. This was rendered in Rhino, but the main scene was done in Max with Vray. I was able to use a noise modifier on it to give the irregularity on the top and bottom.

[ETA] Thomas, I've added the bathroom. :)
