I've read a bit more about the GPU engine. I conclude that ampere is not supported as good as others, as I quote NL knowledgebase: "The higher the number of CUDA cores and their speed, the better. This will determine the rendering speed for that particular graphics card." so a new 3060 that has more cuda cores than 1070 or 2070 and more or less the same speed (a bit more) should deliver better performance, not vice-versa...
