Thank you for the explanation! I would have never thought of using thin SSS with an emitter behind it to light my scene. It opens new doors for me! Often you don't think of things because they
are just too simple

That's the great thing about maxwell. I sometimes speak to photographers who have no experience with 3d apps or 3d rendering whatsoever but I can easely explain what I did for camera settings or lightning, even though I don't have any experience in photography.I have to say that Maxwell is SO amazing in this way...For my bottle rendering portfolio, I am combining my photog friend's photos into it (in a separate section)...he has done other things but not much bottle photography....I literally was giving him lighting advice (and he was doing the same to me also) that we both improved. He would send me photos of his bottles and I would ask "did you try this lighting setup, or this lighting setup?" He hadn't tried it, but when he did, he was able to eliminate a light or two out of the setup. The same thing happened to me also...he would tell me "Did you try this or this" and I was able to streamline my setup as well
