SketchUp imports 3ds, DXF and DWG and DEM. (And various bitmaps).

Yes, I can confirm. I made my own object in Rhino using t-splines, meshed it and exported/imported as a dxf into sketchup. Got it to work a few times. I think, sometimes it has to be "made a component" (some sort of grouping), and other times that happens automatically.
