Very nice so far Tea_Bag :) I would add just tiny fillets mostly on the foot and some of the knobs, would make a difference when rendered I think.

Nice work Tea_Bag, it's looking good and as Max says the step by step images look great. This is almost turning into a tutorial! And I think you've bagged a couple more Solidworks users along the way!

Hey,

@JCaddy - hehe! I cant wait to get to the rendering stages so doing as much as I can!

@Mihai - Good idea Mihai how could I forget that! It does make a difference as the plug render I did months ago look much better when adding the tiny fillets! Thanks for the reminder! Thanks for the comments!

@oz42 - I'm glad your liking the WIP! The desk, notice board I'll probably not show the step for step, but on the harder models I Will continue showing step for step. Thanks for the kind words!

Update..

Took a top view picture of the keyboard and imported into Solidworks setup the right scale, use the spline tool and here is the sketch result

Traced Main Keys and extruded,chamfer

I do realise that I could of used Displacement for the keys but as I dont have the fastest Pc in the world I'm trying to reduce using displacement to enable better render times and besides I will already be using a displacement material for the suede curtains :) hehe! Had to include it somewhere!

Just a question, how does that tidy up sketch work? You draw a curve....and then you cut the old curves you used for the extrude with it? I mean it can be done thanks to the history stack in SW? Or did you use some other technique?

Thanks Max! :) Good critic to I agree as Mihai prompted me too bout the fillets and chamfers on the edges  Thats been done now to all I've modeled. As for more detail? that regard the modeling detail?

@Mihai - Tidy up sketch doesn't exist in SW I Just called it that so you could see whats been done :) I drew a sketch over the top and extruded it down to fill 3mm of the edge. Which is then merged. Hopefully I've answered your question :)

@Will - Its fun I tell you!

@ Mihai - Whats really handy bout SW is that when drawing anything or any feature you can delete, suppress or Hide it at any stage of drawing. Example I can go back to the speaker cone and change the diameter and it will update in assembly mode.

Sorry for no screen dumps of detail modeling but it did take up loads of time  I might later post the odd dumps of the Printer
