At first i thought this wouldn't be an issue, but jjs is right. Even though your page is like 800x650, it's definitely gonna scroll on 1024x768 screens (still most prominent).

1024x768:

p.s. I still can't believe RenderGuy.com was available.

Thanks guys,

That's the tricky thing when working on a 1600x1200 ;-)
I'll will tweak it for 1024x768.

Thanks again guys :D

Web-Dev Extension allows you to resize your window to specific sizes. Very feature rich extension, i use it a lot.

Still the same size, but I've updated page 2 and 3 of my portfolio pages, and some more little tweaks, also added a simple contact page.

Have a look  http://www.renderguy.com

I love it Nico. It looks smooth and easy to navigate. Great stuff

Woops hit submit too early. The only thing I would suggest is maybe putting a few other renders on each page of the portfolio sub pages. It's sort of annoying having to click through each tab to get three images of the same object. Nitpicking, but this may be only me.

Hi Nico,

You need more matching wireframes there in the portfolio, people might take you as a photographer...

Great site!!

Ricardo

ps. My two cents on flash, I really don't like it - a html site over a faulty / slow link is manageable, a flash site just breaks.

Hehehe ;-) thanks Ricardo! :D
And I agree with you about Flash,
I have to say I'm really happy with the combination Fireworks/Dreamweaver, one day I have to learn more about php and css, using style sheets must be so much easier to maintain!

I was forced into css latelly, I was still using what at learned in 1990. It's really worth trying.

nico. your site is looking good !
what i find a bit annoying is that the whole page always renews when i use a link. (all those graphic parts that are exactly the same for all pages for example) see below for details
ps. My two cents on flash, I really don't like it
mmmh i think you do not like "flashy" sites where everything is blinking or moving, but you are not forced to use flash like this.

take nicos page for example. i am sure it looks kind of different on different browsers, or different versions of broswsers.
i used to do some web design and especially from the design point of view i was really annoyed spending too much time that the design looks the same for everyone.
now i only use flash for all sites (not much movement in my designs though - just a bit where needed or sometimes some image fading)
you can easily copy nicos site with flash and it will look the same for everybody !
another advantage is that now if i use a link the whole site is renewed (all graphics and text) and i can actually see that. with flash you would jump without notice from one link to the other.

just my 2.5 cents on flash

cheers

thinking out loud, I'd say that you should look for a more flexible gallery system. How it is now it could become a pretty long list, likely to be inefficient in term of space and visualization. I would also think of categories to better lead your clients to their desires...

Another option concerning that would be to dump the idea of a non scrolling page and give everything a little more space (only the gallery maybe?).

One last case I have seen was the Ferrari web site during the 2007 F1 car launch. They really don't have many dancing dungeons. But then I just couldn't see a picture of the car. No way. They where overloaded and flash just refused to switch pages. Never able to get back until I cleaned all my cache. Which I don't like doing, since I have a really big set of everyday sites that run so fast on cached interface images.

I think not seeing the page transitions is a bad thing. That's one thing that bothers me with full site flash, hitting back usually will take you to the home page (if you are lucky) or to anywhere else you visited before. Not to mention landing pages & popups, those are hideous.

May be that's because I did lot's of VB, JScript and Java code, was in charge of some database and web servers in the past. I was that guy telling the designer you can't use this, you can't do that...
