We are in the verge of solving this bug. We have already tested it happens only in intel when there are emmitters in the scene, using phisical sky with sun works well.

While we solve it (we think it will be really soon), you can always make mxcl open in emulation with Rosetta. You can do that selecting "Open using Rosetta" in the Info window of mxcl and mxcl server if you are running in network. It will work slower but at least it'll work without dots.

Have you tried it without the water drops? I seem to have toruble withdots whenever there is a transparanet material over/near something interacting with a material that has a complex ior. Then try making the can a simple (non .ior) material with the drops and see what happens.

Daniel.

Yes I tried it without drops also, but am getting the same result. I just turned the emitters off and aktivated physical sky and that does the trick. No spots ! Will post a picture soon.

I guess we have to wait for 1.5.2 ......BUMMER

yeah, I think the emitters going through a dielectric is the root of the problem. I had made some glass shader for picture frames in 1.1 and it caused alot of dots when emitters were shined on it and after using the wizard to make a new high grade glass, it worked fine. I also tried to make a waterfall that was lit from the side with about 150 tiny emitters and it seemed to make a pattern of dots related to those emitters. reflecting of the surface behind the water. I havent determied which paramter will sovle it though. Maybe today there will be a break through.

Here's my physical sky pic. This works fine, so I guess the emitters are buggy.....
