I'm afraid i'm a lili bit too much sarcastic, but we already've been promised this by mverta.
Just tell us - is Maya8 plug-in will be released before Maya 8.5 release?

Maya 8 plugin will be released at the same time that maya 7, and it will take adventage of new features, for instance the mxs exporting process in maya 8 is 5-7 times faster in meshes without submaterials (one material per the whole object). This is very important for animation or large scenes.
