I think it is a fantastic resource. I congratulate Next Limit for setting it up. It's brilliant. I have download many materiels and they all have their maps. Sometimes I have to redirect the links, but that's no problem.

Sod's Law. I just downloaded a couple with no materials or with a map that is missing. In one case the map was left from when the material was rehashed from another material (remove the map, and it worked fine).

I still think it is fantastic as long as everyone works hard to keep it neat.

There should be a system of reporting bad materials with missing maps. Just a button somewhere that says "report incomplete material."

I guess so poor guy's gonna have to go through each mat and make sure all texture maps have been uploaded or delete it.

Maybe before uploading they should add a checkbox stating that all uploaded maps are not rights-protected/managed/copyrighted, otherwise NL or the webmaster could eventually run into trouble... :)

Anothe vote for: "only materials with textures" if not is worth less

And I vote for a read-me txt file to be included with every texture pack where the creator lists if and what extra data (ior, r2, maps) are being used.

Little effort for him/her, much time saved for the rest.

Most comfortably a future update of M~R would include a command in MXED to automatically produce a simple txt read-out of the mxm specifying these data including their settings..
I would also like to see who the author was through the material editor, maybe something like file>notes added to the material editor were comments could be saved and such.

They should have the maps or don't upload, plus I agree we need a thumbnails page as browsing the materials is very time consuming.

If someone asked me I'd say to put another buton on the rating stuff where someone who have a bad experience with missig maps could flag it.

The materialposter could come baclk and fill the blanks, cleanning the flag. If after this second chance the material still takes some 10 or so missing map flags, bye bye material.

Not sure how or why?

10 flags? Remove it until it's fixed.

IMO there's no justification for showcasing incomplete materials on this place.
Just show it here in the forums, that's another story.
