Please post here anything else (not relating to Maxwell technical matters)

@Maximus3D: I'm a Rhino3D fanboy and have pay much money for Rhinoll. I would like to use Rhinoll as addendum. Each tool has own advantages, but I'm waiting for an useable Rhinoll and I try to understand all this Maxwell user hype: "Maxwell for ever"? Why? I would like to understand it, best from the view of a professional Rhino user.

I see no problem, 8etty has start to talk about VfR, why not talk about it. Is the Maxwell forum for fanboys only? In last time I have the feeling, Maxwell forum is freeze.
You should not forget, I have used both tools extensive. You could ask you, why can cry a Maxwell user and be happy to use Vray?

Why did you pick the oldest and worst Maxwell sample (which also had a broken bokeh at that time) and compare it with the newest Vray sample ?

About time ... the Maxwell image was 65minutes (not hours)

Thomas, could you post a link to your last Maxwell image for that scene. I'm curious to see the latest version. 65 minutes soundsvery good. I have the feeling, Maxwells advantage is caustics.

What are you doing with Rhinoll now? Can I find some new Rhinoll images from you somewhere? Not tests only, some daily stuff from your projects. I remember me on the boat engine Beta image. Very nice. Do you have new images similar to this?

Maximus, we could try to stay serious and you could start to post some Rhinoll images at my last Maxwell Rhino forum entry. It could be a good help for Rhino users. Should not be a problem for you or? You could confirm you good experience of Rhinoll without any word. I like facts like features or images.

Micha,

Two things:
1) About images, in my job we do not always do 3d... The past few months all incoming client jobs were for 2d official drawings. No Maxwell images were made (even if they were, they would be classified). The engine was modelled a long time ago and it was ok to show back then.

2) About Rhinoll:
No, I do not think Rhinoll is ready yet (not muture enough). But you have to understand that this does not imply that the Maxwell engine itself is inferior.

About engines. Vray is an awesome workhorse and I recommend it too for people given their needs (as you show in the Rhino forum with Heath)... but you should avoid trying to pit Vray against Maxwell.
Vray is currently #2 in terms of realsim (you can only go so far with BRDF alone, and without complex IOR materials, also the Maxwell GI light propagation has an edge too) ... it is the price/performance ratio and plugin maturity that makes Vray attractive.

Let's be serious, Micha. You're not here looking for images...you are a very skilled user who can make them yourself. The same as has been for a few months now, you are really only here to complain about Maxwell, and to praise VRay. It is that simple. You only get resistance from users like Maximus because of your smart tone.

For me...I'm happy with Maxwell/Rhinoll. What more needs to be said?

lol, nothing i guess...:)

@Thomas: Your assessment looks dead on to me, very well said.

Otherwise, hopefully without getting my happy sacks stepped on :) , Micha has done some brilliant maxwell work in the past, contributed lots of *positive* criticism, and I'm sure he'll continue do so in the future...
