Our new pup, George.

Not very good photos, but these were taken with a 2mpixel camera so give me a break ;) I haven't purchased a nice camera in well......ever.
Need to get a dog! What dog is that?
He's a lab / boxer mix. He's about 85 pounds now at a year old. I don't think he'll get much bigger. He's really not all that big, just big boned :)

We actually might have to get rid of him soon if we move :(

I ran into this guy the other day while I was mowing the lawn.
About 3.5"... I wanted to kill it but my wife wouldn't let me.
I have no idea what kind it is or if it is dangerous.

It is the Yellow Garden Spider. They are extremely beneficial and relatively harmless. The venom is not harmful to humans and they will only bite if cornered and harassed.

I have a "live and let live" attitude about spiders. I don't want one on me though. One time, my cat dropped a 1" diameter Wolf spider on my wrist while I was at the computer at 1 am. For all of my spider tolerance, I had to be peeled off the ceiling. I caught the thing and threw it outside. I heard it hit the ground. Wolf spider. Cousin to the Tarantula. Big spider.

That thing looks amazing - you shouldn't kill it.

We used to have one of these bird eating spiders living in our eaves by the back door.
