Mate I hope that you are not for one second suggesting that me especially might post something that comes close to the results you've posted - I can give it a go but seriously mate there are only a few like yourself on the forums who seem to have a complete grasp on maxwell materials!

I'm simply one of those who live in awe!

Hey thanks for posting the tap scene! - great for as you say close up work!

Doing a lot of arch vis work I'd love to develop a scene that deals with larger scaled mats - glass, grass and a bit of arse!

I mean arsey! Like pulling it off! Not like arse as in bottoms - we don't get to do too many of those in arch vis! Though I am in Australia, now one of the fatest places on earth, though they don't sell real estate! Well not the big ones!

Richard, that's exactly what i'm suggesting :) it doesn't have to be the best thing ever seen to be be posted on here, i mean you don't have to be a pro to post materials. Hell i still consider myself a noob compared to masters like KurtS, Tom, Mr Darth Vader (sorry i forgot his real nickname now) and many many other mxm masters on the forum. Give it a shot Richard, go crazy and run some tests now that you got my watertap thingy to play with. :) you never know.. you might become one of those masters yourself!

LOL yea a materialtesting scene with a arse would be awsome :D :D so you don't get many arses in archviz do you hehee.. that's just too funny! aussies ain't fatties, not compared to the americans. Are ya ? nooo... many moons ago knew a girl in Australia, real nice chick and she was everything except fat.

Mate we have trumpted the US as the fatest nation now! I'm luckily not one who suffers but you only have to step out the door (as long as one is not trying to step in) to see a now swallon population.

I think it is about 60% of people are now obese (sp?)!

hey max
the cloth doesn't look that good. it's not only because of the mesh but the material looks unrealistic to me ...
it's weird that it is much more transparent in its shadow parts (is this normal?) and the transparency could use a little roughness ...

sorry, to be so judical for once :)

producing realistic curtains or cloth is one thing I never acheived. so I'd be much interested to see some more test of it...

greets,
kami

Richard: I find that hard to believe, because US is fatter than Jabba the Hutt now. If it's true that Oz people are growing fatter then it's sad :(

kami: Actually i have to agree with you on that because i noticed the same thing but i thought i would get away with it hehe ..unfortunately you're gifted with the eyes of an eagle and you spotted it. I'll try to improve this and see if i can make it better and more realistic without using sss. This test above is not with sss. I also thought that if this could work then perhaps there's a way of getting a thin-sheet type scattering effect on thin leafs by using the same or similar material. I don't know.. just brainstorming now.

Mate I'm just going off the news about 6 months ago that they announced it as official, we are now the worlds fattest nation! Very sad when given our lifestyle options here! The weathers great, great walks abound, beaches amongst the most stunning in the world, though sharks haven't been friendly this last summer! though aussies obiously make a good meal now!

Though we still do have some stunning slim women! Jennifer Hawkins!!

That has to be an erroneous report. Trust me, .. the world tilts on it's axis because of the US. Come on ... we coined the words Biggie and Super-sized and we mean it !!!!!!!

not a long ago there was "super size me" on TV... jeeez that MC Donald food is scary.. more scary than exorsist 20.... When they opened the first MC Donald in Metz (France), I remember going with a friend.. I just ate the meat... the bread made me think I was eating my pillow... ahaha.. never been there again since then.. MY hamburgers I make (only in Summer) are 5,000,000,000,000,000 better.. and I don't claim to be a Hamburger specialist.. that's not the kind of food I appreciate anyway..

also most people buy ready cutted fries.. big mistake... they're empty.. he he..

Max.. sorry for HighJerking your thread.. but when I hear "food"... hehe.. :D

Indeed Hervé, when you cook it yourself you know everything that goes in it and how it's handled and that you work with clean hands and in a clean enviroment. :)

Here's a calzone i baked, first one actually which was quite interesting and do i need to say it tasted excellent! :) perhaps not the prettiest calzone you ever seen hehe
