Nicole: Thanks for answering, however i'm not so sure i like that answer. We've all been waiting now for almost a year and by now we do expect atleast a deadline for the final release to be set by now. How can you guys work without having a deadline ?! noone can do that, not even us small freelancers can pull that off with our clients. If i'm concerned, yes i am and i admit it that this somehow bothers me seeing that there's still not enough oil in the machinery over at NL's office to make things run smoothly. Why.. i have no clue anymore. On a sidenote.. patience is running out. :(

numerobis: Just like you i do feel the releasedate is still way off in the future, sometime this summer if we're lucky. Mid May early June release.. maybe.

Adrian: :D hehe good one!

"How can you guys work without having a deadline"

sorry maximus. in software a deadline is not realistic. it leads just to problems like we had in rc times. in this point i must say NL is having right in their current policy.

but just as it looks the featureset is more or less fixed, so it would be good to make a solid announcement what 1.2 really is about . so that we all can make our plans. i have no problem if the annoucement is now and it ships a bit later. also autodesk and others anounce their product with full featurelists prior to release,...

so i personally would find it greatr to give us an positive outlook of what we will soon get:-)

cheers

I'll try my best nnot to do it anymore!

I rarely speak my opinion on here, but this is getting rediculous.

While I do agree with the "OMG itZ 12:01AM and there is no newsletter!!!!!" being rediculous. I do think that we as paying customers deserve updates from time to time, letting us know what the hell is being done with the product we paid good money for. It's a bit strange for a company as large as this to simply ignore ALL of these requests on their own forum. Sure you might be working on all the wishlist items, fixing the bugs list items, etc...but it doesn't matter if we can't see what is being done.

Can you "the A team and NL team" not see how this is frustrating?

I do support NL and will continue to use Maxwell, but damn seeing Fry's updates from week to week. It makes it that much more frustrating.

YES!
And what about istancing?
I don't know about the software development, but for the PR, although considering the appreciated efforts of Nicole, is really not enough!!!
Can't you see how many frustrated people?
Quite Maximus is becoming disappointed...

A bit off topic, but I would disagree with that. A sensible deadline helps focus your attention and keeps you from adding new features before you've finished the old ones. When you take away deadlines you end up with Duke Nukem Forever and Windows Vista.

hmmm NL team, ihmo you need to come out with something reeeeally cool with 1.2 (and yes, i'm confident you can), or noone here will buy your hush-hush attitude any more.

I agree with all the time they have taken and all the hype they have build they better have something big. I just don;t mean one thing but 2 or 3 killer features like the multilight. I am afraid that NL are settings themselves up for a disaster. I just hope that I am wring.

Hi Nicole

Finally! Thanks! I am looking forward further info. Hope there will be no unexpected problem that could delay release.

Thanks again.

Of all the companies i know, silence have made good only to Apple, and all because people were confident in them. When you know the company makes great (even breakthrough sometimes) products, silence from them means something GREAT is boiling inside.
But all this system may be ruined by one disappointing release.
After that, the respect will be to be built again.
I hope next Maxwell release will be great enough for us to think "If NL is silent - they are preparing some GREAT stuff!!!"

I really hope so!
