Is anyone using Blue-ray for storage of files? I'm looking at various ways to archive data. At upwards of 27Gig of storage on a Blue-ray the additional expense of the writer/discs seems worthwhile. I've researched the longevity of the discs and there doesn't seem to be any concrete data. Accelerated Life Testing is okay but can't tell the whole story and they haven't been around long enough to "know" what the actual truth is. Of course, if the data was good for, arbitrarily let's say 10 years, by then something else will be available to replace Blue-Ray (like the work being done with biological DNA; one gram of the stuff can hold 455 billion gigabytes - http://newsfeed.time.com/2012/08/20/the ... ed-in-dna/).
