The file named "maxwell" IS your "maxwell.app" (".app" is an extension for application and invisible). You need to copy the file in Applications folder.

Terminal.app... it is an application in Utilities folder in Applications folder(one with an icon looks like studio display with ">").

It's 5AM here in Tokto, but I will be up for few more hours since I've got few wors to do... Anyway, let me know how it goes.
