I did a quick test with my current project, set it at 4096 sq, and it starts rendering, so that cant be the limit. only, on my system it will take ages before I will even get at SL1 since I have only 2gig ram, which is insufficient for that resolution to render at normal speed.

but it might help adding your configuration
