I have a 1 + 4 licenses and all are setup to render over the network, i just added the 4th node and now it says that i have exceeded the maximum nodes allowed? my computer is the full license and 4 nodes connected so a full license cannot be used in node rendering???? why then does it cost so much more if it cannot render over the network with the rest of my farm it is not being utilized at all?????

I'm not quite sure I understand your situation but I have one license and one node. I'm able to run a network render where my computer as well as another computer on my network are able to work together. In other words you should be able to render on as many computers as you have nodes plus your license (so 5 computers in your case).

You say you just added the 4th node license? So do all of your computers have the exact same license.txt file? It's my understanding that that's how you want to do it. Perhaps you only updated your license file on one of your computers, which could be an issue?

Not much in the way of help, but I can tell you that that I run my main machine with manager, node, and monitor and works fine.

How did you verify that they have the new license?

When Maxwell loads, it FIRST checks if there is a license.txt in the loading user's Documents folder. If there is, it uses that. If there is not, THEN in copies the license.txt from the application directory to the launching user's folder. Therefore, if you drop a new, upgraded license in the application directory, but do not delete the old license.txt from each and every user directory, Maxwell will continue to use the old, cached licenses.

i just verified that all user/mydocs contain the updated 1+4 license, so all have the correct license in both locations and my manager shows that there are 5 ip's listed
