Open image in Maxwell.
Save as HDR.
Use the HDR as an emitter.

You just open Maxwell Render (not the Studio)
File > Open image
File > Save image as > name.hdr
done!

Maxwell render don't let me do it

in the maxwell render there is
load image- no open image
save image - no save as
