you're computer and maxwell will think they are at an all you can eat buffet serving fresh, thick cut bacon... it will also add 12 more pancakes to the spread.

Maxwell is capable of taking advantage of as much RAM as you throw at it.

Whether it will or not, or whether you will see a speedup going from 6 to 18 will depend on your scenes. If you machine is not currently running out of RAM when rendering, more RAM will not make it faster.

I'm not sure any of the answers were terribly clear. It's my understanding that adding RAM is very different than adding CPU. Maxwell will use 100% of whatever CPU power you have for every render. When it comes to RAM though, having more will only help you if what you had before wasn't enough. So if you're having troubles rendering a huge scene or one w/ lots of MultiLight or lots of polygons, then yes, adding RAM will help those situations. But if you aren't having issues, then it simply won't use that extra RAM. Love for someone to tell me I'm wrong on that though.
