Hello, I have some strange bright lines in some renderings:

http://www.pixelprinz.ch/docroot/pics/Burj.jpg

I got that problem since I did the v2.02 Update, but just in big renderings (this one is 2300 x 5744px).
Short after starting the render you see the normal noise, but not these white lines.
As I took a look next morning it was messed up. I am not sure, but I think it happens in the stopping process,
but only in renders that run some hours...

I use: Maya 2010, Maxwell Render V2.02, Mac Pro 2 x 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 16 GB Ram, OSX 10.5.8

Do anyone have the same problem with 2.02?

Regards, Linus

I can confirm this. It happened to me on a 5000 px render over the weekend. But I'm not sure it happens at the stopping process. It was a network render on 2 computers (similar specs). One render worked fine, one had this white line. But it looked like from the individual render times shown that the error occured several hours before I stopped the render. The mxi's did not merge and write to disk, so I had to go retrieve them from the temp folders. When I merged them, I noticed the white line. When this error occurs, the render progress stops. I also looked in the manager and node consoles for errors (debug mode), but did not see any.

Hi Pixelprinz, we are still evaluating where this bug comes from, but could you try opening the mxi and re-saving channels and output in a 32 bit format, like TIFF or EXR to check if the problem is in the mxi or in the output process?

Thanks

Last night I did a big render again and now I can say, It happens definitely in the stopping process! The render was 2300x5744px again, no multilight, with Material and Object ID. With SL 12.49 it looked good and as I stopped it, the white lines appear. And even after 45 minutes it could not finish to write the Output! It just stays like that:

Have it too, going fine untill actually stopping the render. :( No big res render, just 1600*1200. Tried to change multilight sliders and notice that the preview changes but the white stripes remain. Cannot refresh as the button does not respond.
Used the 64bit patch.

Opening the mxi is possible even if the process of writing output holds on 10%. The opened mxi does allow refreshing, but the stripes remain. Used Ibl and two ibl emitters (behind ags) for the displays.

No extra channels used.

It looks like there is something wrong with access to RAM . it looks like bad merged .MXI with cooperative render, but this is weird it appears with NO MULTILIGHT too.

I had a a similar problem on a 20 minutes render on a Mac Pro with MR 2.0.2, initiated from Maya 2010. Mac OS 10.6.2. Single machine rendering.

Everything looked fine while rendering, but when I clicked the stop button (around SL16), a bright square appeared on the image and the "output written" progress bar never reached 100%.

Unfortunately I didn't keep the file...
