hello, i'm somewhat new at using maxwell render and i have a few questions. the first, and im sure this is a terrible question, but when using maxwell, is there any way to use imperial scales? the second question i have has to due with the orientation of materials placed on surfaces in studio. what is the deciding factor in whether that material orients vertically or horizontally? and is there an easy adjustment to correct a wrong orientation or is the only way to fix it to rotate all the maps 90 degrees? a great thanks for any advice!

Do you mean in Maxwell Studio or through the modeling applications supported with plugins?

It's a matter of rotating your UV set, nothing to do with the texture parameters.

im using Maxwell Studio, i use Rhino 4.0 for the modeling program and then import to Studio as a .3ds file. i would use the rhino plug-in but ive got 64bit Maxwell and 32bit rhino, so they dont match.

is the uv sets how i would be able to change the scale of the material on the surface without going through and stretching or shrinking all the texture maps for a material as well?? (this is what ive been doing... :?) is there any tutorials i missed on uv sets?

as always your help is greatly appreciated!!

you can easily use the rhino plugin x32 and I would strongly suggest it!
there is no problem with 64bit and 32bit, since the plugin only writes an mxs which is then opened in the 64bit render program.
if you feel like trying the rhino 5 beta, there is a 64bit version and a 64bit maxwell plugin for it.

the direction of the texture (and of the uv-mapping) is determined by the way you creat your object. there are several possibilities to change the orientation and the tiling and I would really suggest doing it in rhino.
