I am new to maxwell so this could be a simple error.
I am doing an animation and getting a haze og slightly foggy look to some of the frames.
I am not using any simulens effects, the lighting is a simple Daylight system.
I have posted 2 consequetive frames on our website which show the problem;

Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks

Martin,
thanks, it does appear that it's could be a simulens issue. I read your link to the other post and sure enough when I submit a render from within 3dsMax, maxwell starts up with Simulens settings of 50, 50, 0, 0. However, and this is my problem; It only affects some frames, and setting the simulens values to their lowest ie 1,1,0,0 has no effect (at least no noticable effect -I have not yet overlayed a frame on top of itself to check, but it is certainly not having any significant effect on the haze).
I will keep trying. I have switched off every xRef being called in the file to check if any of them are causing the problem, but no effect here either.
I am now trying to export, MXS files from within Max for each frame, so I can try opening the scene for the problem frames within Maxwell Studio and try rendering directly from here, by first adjusting the simulens settings to their lowest.

Actually , I just tried this, and still no luck.

..any good ideas? Is there a way to adjust the default simulens settings to 0,0,0,0 ?

ok, I seem to have found a work-around.
Activating camera clipping planes (near =5m and far =2km has worked for this architectural project , but I'm sure any settings will work) seems to have stopped the haze or fog on the renders. While also setting the simulens effects to active at their smallest values, and thereby overriding the false zero default (which seems to be kicking into effect ramdomly at the "false zero" ie 50,50,0,0 settings if left inactive).

I hope this makes sense.

So to summarise;
1. turn simulens ON but set the levels to their minimal, and ..
2. switch camera clipping planes ON

This is working but it would be nice to see the simulens inactive default working properly (ie OFF or 0,0,0,0) as I am sure the simulens effect, even at minimal values, will add to rendering times, which, let's face it, is the last thing a Maxwell render job needs!
