In 1.7 when resuming a render , first the mxi was opened using 'resume mxi' , then parameters could be changed , than the 'render' command.
Now when opening the mxi using 'resume mxi' , the render just starts up after. How to change parameters of a resume now or is not functioning correctly ?

Stop, change and render. It will ask you to resume or render again

Are you attempting to resume an old MXI in v2?

no , just rendering an old 1.7 file then trying to resume.
Works fine on new scenes

There's no such limitation about old MXS.
Could you describe your steps clearly?

For example, doing this works here:
1) Run maxwell.exe V2
2) Open old MXS
3) Define MXI path and render
4) Quit maxwell.exe and restart
5) Resume MXI
6) Click Stop
7) Change settings (*be carfeul, changing resolution is not supported)
8) Click Render and click Resume when asked.

just tested resuming quickly 6 1.7 files.

opened mxs files , render , quit then try to resume.
From those six files , four will not open using resume from mxcl.
Two however will.
Will try to narrow this down to something
