Thanks Juan, good to know I'm not going mad and that Next Limit is already on the case!

I've got a friend running some tests through the Rhino plugin version of Fire. It's a chimney (so simple geometry) with a heavily displaced field stone texture (I think the displacement is 8cm) and it's running really great. Gives you a really good jist of what's going on within about 5-10 seconds and thats on an out of date single core machine.

Hi all, struggling to find the 'draft' render quality setting in the maya plugin... anyone else found it yet?

hello,

I am using rhino 5 32 bit, i7 980x and 9g ram.

I wait more more time for a complex model (below 50000 mash) exporting to maxwell fire, until I can't wait!

Anyone have a same case?

thank!

"more time" than what? I'm not sure Fire takes any less time (or more) than the regular render to export and voxelize - I'm not sure how it could.

In comparison to previous Rhino plugins, this one is exporting slower. I'm looking into it -- it's due to changes I made in the export procedure, which were required to make it possible to track the identities of Rhino objects, in order to support design-time material assignment.

thread about it maya section in forum.. they will add button in next pluginupdate but for now if you wish to render Draft via launching renderer thru maya plugin.. goto your Maxwell Render Globals and type "-rs:0" (without the quotes) into the "additional flags" field

Playing with FIRE in Maya 2011 right now. All I can say: Freakin´awesome! Totally love this new feature. Gonna save me hours and days of tweaking!!! Don´t know how I could work without it before.

A new set of videos to teach material properties to Maxwell beginners would really benefit from this speed and interactivity.

In Studio, is there a way to lock Fire to a particular camera so that I can go to another camera in the regular viewport and adjust light positions while still having Fire rendering the other camera view?

Fire window is the real time preview... of the camera you look at... So I guess the answer is no...

You can switch to Perspective view to get another view of your scene, in that case the FIRE view won't switch to the Perp view, it will remain on the last active camera view.
