Now people seem to be shifting to scattered grass geometry. It'll be a nice tool to have in the belt but I'm just fine with NL not turning it into a major focus at this point.

Brodie, you will benefit from this feature by also using Max. The thing is you shouldn't get to stuck on the word hair, it's not just hair or fur this is useful for but any type of fibers since you can apply any Maxwell material to the generated fibers. So think carpets, towels, brushes, fabrics.....there are many more applications than hair and grass. But, it's not the only new feature in this free upgrade :)
Certainly a good point. I don't do a lot of interiors but, like I say, it'll be a nice tool to have in the bag. I'm not one to look a (free) gift horse in the mouth (maybe that expression isn't international...). I eagerly look forward to seeing what else this update has up its sleeve :)

Me too. :)

I just wish modo would open up their SDK more. Marton has done a great job with the plug-in and in time it will get even better. As for next limit they have the easiest rendering engine on the market witch makes my job as an artist much easier. So thanks next limit and I for one never want to come across as not being thankful!

The expression exists in german ("Einem geschenkten Gaul schaut man nicht ins Maul") but not in french.
OK that reply is totally useless, but I'm just trying to kill time waiting for the upgrade...

As far as I know, that expression exists also in french (at least in French Canada) :

"À cheval donné on ne regarde pas la bride."

See what you've done to us NL? Now we've devolved into a serious discussion about obscure (but surprisingly ubiquitous) expressions. I blame you, NL, for this.

An announcement on Facebook instead of an e-mail or forum announcement is not how I expect to be informed of the release of the latest version of software I rely on everyday... Who exactly are your customers NL?

But you can be sure I'll be testing this thoroughly.
