Amazing set of new tools! But as a Modo user (along with others on this forum as they also would love to know) will V3 Modo plugin support Modo fur/ hair? Worth a shot asking.... :)

I think it's best to ask directly in the Modo forum, but I think the developer will say it doesn't really depend on us but on what Modo gives the plugin. AFAIK, the problem is still that the Modo SDK does not supply us with the needed curve info. But things may have changed...

Jenny Fermor wrote:For V3 we are introducing both a node-locked and floating license option, the former being a more economical version of the Maxwell Suite product for freelancers/users on just one machine, and it comes minus the networking tools. The latter is our standard Maxwell Render Suite floating license (as it is now for V2) but for V3 it will come with 10 rendernodes included.
Thank you for the clarification. I wonder if you could cast some light on the process of moving the nodelocked license between machines. What if I move to another machine due to hw upgrade?

And how many installations I can do? Typically nodelocked licenses allow installing on two machines. Is this true also for Maxwell Render?

WOW - the new lens are stuff I've been waiting for.
Couldn't understand the new material assistant - it looks like anotherway to use the material wizard.

Hello choo-chee,

In fact it is another way to use the Standard Material Editor.

The old Wizards worked only in one way: You could select a (i.e.) Carpaint, choose its color and smoothness and the editor creates the whole structure for you. BUT if you wanted the change back the original carpaint color, you may needed to adjust it on several Layers and BSDFs on an structure that maybe you don't understand completely, or remove that material and start the Wizard with a new carpaint.

Now, the new Assistant gives you quick access to several material "types" (plastic, metal, transparent...) and get a very clean and easy Material Editor just exposing the parameters related in that material. So they are live if you want to change the carpaint color, or so...

If you want, you can revert your material to the Advanced Editor with the full parameters if you want to perform detail custom adjustments, but you can move 99% of your time with this simple Editor.

Honestly, this will be a well celebrated feature : )

Cheers!

The node-locked licenses will allow you to install on both a workstation and a laptop, and you can also move to another machine if you need to (all you need to do is repeat the license activation process). After 3 installs on different machines, you will receive warnings about exceeding the activation limit/enter the blacklist on our server. You can install on the same machine an unlimited number of times.

I hope this helps! Full information on the products and licensing will be available with release.

All the best

With new lenses it will be possible to create 360 degree rendering. I am curious (probably answer is obvious) which tool
allows to view it interactively then?
Would be nice to put it then on www or send to client.
