Download it again. There was a problem with one of the download mirrors, but it's fixed now.

Particles, too. What is the nature of them? Instanced geometry? Volumetric clouds? Blobby meshes?

All good here. Great to see the OSX version of Studio running so smoothly. No dialogue boxes hanging around any more.

One thing I am confused about though. Can I resume renders that were started in 2.5? I have only tried a couple and I got some odd results (might be complicated by the sky settings.

Sorry, you can't because changes are enormous in image handling, specially in AA and and as you say you get weird results. Same with merging mxi files, all of them must be generated with the same version.

Ah OK, thanks. Is it easy to run 2.5 along side 2.6? ... On OSX.

yes, you can do that, just remember that if you save an mxs file with Studio 2.6 it would not be opened with previous versions.
jfrancis wrote:Particles are shaded spheres?
They are usually spheres, but the system also allows to replace the sphere with any other geometry (although it depends on how each plugin exports particles.)

I took a 87mb model from sketchup that i was able to render prefectly in 2.5. I exported it again tried to render and now im on my 6th crash...not looking so good for 2.6.

Is it possible to reduce the size of the spheres below .001 meters? I like the smoke effect in the documentation, but the smallest particles I seem to be able to get are still way to big at any kind of higher resolution.
