Looks amazing. But how long i wonder did it take to render. And like displacement does it cause more noise in the scene. I sure wish nextlimit would be more like luxology in the communication with it's user base.

With today's MW I think this video needs a renderfarm of 40 PCs and 2 days rendering... So, although it looks great, I can't be impressed...

It's fast, I'd say faster than rendering hair in other engines with perfect AA and full GI. Seriously I haven't seen hair rendered this good until now (I mean in general not just in this video). Long hair or fur, it just looks great, not cartoony or blurry shadows. I hope we can post some images and more info next week...

Just so I 'm not lynched on the day of the release but I have to clarify we haven't gone and created an entire hair styling system which would require a whole team apart from coding Maxwell Render, but we now support hair/fibers created with other hair systems and render them efficiently.

Hm... this is actually pretty dissapointing news as a SolidWorks and Rhino user.

Maybe someone will create a plugin for Studio to create/style hair (I'm thinking something like the HDR Light Studio plugin)... if not I may have to look into some of the hair capable applications as being able to render realistic hair is a "killer app" for me.
