zdeno, it's not out yet, so who knows, but out of sheer curiosity, how much does the realtime preview appeal to you from what you've seen so far?

as I said earlier in realtime preview thread

suddenly it shows , background image can be just DISPLAYED not need to be sampled ;) maybe there is rendertime saver ;)

I think everyone should stay a little cooler. this all realtime would be great for setting materials in simple scene (simball here I come ;) ) , as at all showed example with 4 meshes and IBL around. With heavy interior it would be chocked as usuall.
similiar effect with this realtimepreview youtube is when I set RS0 and resolution 200X150 on my 1.7.1 version, except time loss for voxelization process. Maybe that is why RS0 is not available anymore in 2.X
It would be great tool for material setting or seting precise specular position or setting position of sun in the sky. but it didn,t give us (You) biased solution speed in complex scene (interiors or heavy displacement sss etc.) . now I have to use RS0 and small resolution and constantly click render button. with realtime it would be just automatic.
I hope with this new tool people would start to understand how to build materials and maxwell will again be present on cg forums ... not only here.

Just trying to get back to the original topic, I have noticed one thing that made me quite happy. Perhaps I was being a bit stupid. Two of my regular preview scenes have the CPU Thread variable set at 1 or 2 (back from simpler times). I have changed these to Automatic and saved them. My preview times have speeded up no end on multi core machines.
