so is a bug?

Now im worry on my upcoming projects.. is unpredictable and this weird patterns will show up in the last min during final render, getting rid of it in PS seems impossible on some area where there are details behind it.

Hi,

I'm having the same exact problem with a scene here. I'm rendering hi-res and have a strip of that weird pattern in the middle of my picture. I'm showing the object Id here as it appears more clearly, but it is present on every channel.

The scene isn't complex, a face with a layered shader, displacement and 3-4 emitters. I'll render on another computer to see if it's related to my setup.

It's happening on the other computer as well, and it is really obvious at low sampling.
I'll try with default shaders and no displacement.

no need to be sorry, just learn where CAPS LOCK is, and don,t do this again.

BTW thanks BB to correct me again, I think I can turn off autocorrect in my FFox when I browse this forum, You will always help.
So what is your opinion Brian ? is it a bug ? or is it a feature? mayby this is some kind of solution ? "we can't get ride of noise so at least let's manage this noise in some kind of order (pattern) "

Most of my day is filled with CAD work where caps are on all the time. Then I switch to forum and start typing, look up and see all caps. Oh well.

I'll ask about the bug (feature) to NL and see what they say.

what if you remove it..? still getting pattern

I just checked and it still occurs, even after removing the displacement.
I also deleted every texture file in my scene, and tried lighting with just the physical sky, but the problem persists.

edit : typo

so lets just wait see if anything can be done on this bug.

Doubt removing bumps or displacemnt will solve it.

Hi everybody,

I'm beginning to think this is a very wide spread bug, as at our Architecture office we have had this problem in almost all our projects (if not all) and it happens on all machines too. I really don't think it has anything to do with materials light or geometry, As it always appears on the same part of the render and it is always a horizontal bar of the same size. It is also very strange that is moves along with the render as you use shift lens, but not exactly. I've tried shift lens because we became desperate to meet a deadline and I thought about rendering the scene two times with different shift lens values and recomposing it in Photoshop.

I would really be interested in an official statement from Next Limit on this issue, and even more in a solution, because it's costing us al lot of time and headaches,

Sincerely,

Bas Woldman

Same here. My current client is wondering when his project will be renderable without that strange pattern. We really need a fix or a workaround asap.

Are you rendering on 32 or 64 bit? Can you please give some machine specs and render resolution, it might have to do with the machine running out of memory.

For my case both systems have the problem and i run on 64bits.

- Quad core Intel Xeon 2.93GHz
- Dual 512Mb nVidai Quadro FX580
- 24GB 1333MHz Ram

- Quad core Intel Xeon 2.5GHz
- 768Mb nVidia Quadro FX4600
- 16GB 667MHz Ram

Latest images that have problems were rendered only in 2500 X 3500 pixels.

i really really do hope this can be solved, it just make no sense that when everything is done and send for final render (which is the last and most important stage)... this weird things come in and screw up the entire project.
