Hi,

I thought it might interest some of you to know that the RANCH waiting list now displays in real time (every minute) an approximation of the current global Sampling level reached while rendering a cooperative project, so you can have a better idea of how things are progressing.

Hi,

I guess everyone is readying her/himself for the new year! We do too, in one week the RANCH will go to phase III with some very interesting news! We will announce the main features this week, so come and take a look at the RANCH web site Home Page from time to time :)

Cheers

So here is our first big announcement: from next monday onward the RANCH will offer a 600 GHz processing power for every Maxwell project. This is a 76% increase from the current capacity!

To give you an idea of what it represents, the RANCH now reaches an SL of 20 in under 4 minutes on the Benchwell scene

And tomorrow... other good news! :)

The good news of today is about memory! From next monday onward every render node on the RANCH will have 8 GB RAM. Perfect to render very complex projects!

Also, I must warn everyone that the RANCH will be closed next saturday and sunday (january 5-6), to come back in good shape on monday!

And tomorrow... the last big thing! You will like it too :)

Are you using Vista 64?
No we don't, we use XP64. I know you like Vista very much, and I am not personally anti-Vista, but believe me we have very good reasons not to use it on such a complex thing as an automated renderfarm.

As you can see now, our third announcement is a big splash in the world of professional renderfarms, as we now offer the best price per GHz per Hour on the entire planet (by far). This is something we wanted to do for a while, but now we can, thanks to the next generation of our in-house automation tools.

For Maxwell users, it means we go from $0.50 to $0.29 (~ 0.20 €) per GHz per Hour, which is unheard of. This is not a promotion, this is our new regular price. It goes with our philosophy to make renderfarming accessible to as many people as we can. :D

So, here we are, the RANCH V3 is ready! :D Maybe there will be small details to polish out for a few days, but everything is going according to plan.

In addition to the 3 big announcements (GHz, GB, $), there will also be new possibilities regarding the user interface. It should now be much easier to re-upload a project in case of an internet disconnection during the upload. Also - very important - you will now have all the information about a given project in the "My Projects" section. That way, if for any reason you do not receive our e-mails quickly, or if you don't have access to your e-mail, you will be able to get your download info directly from the web site, as soon as the payment is done. These functions are currently being tested and should be ready this week.

We are planning other user interface enhancements for the following weeks.

Nothing but good news in March at RANCH! :D

- the total processing power guaranteed for each Maxwell project is now 1.1 THz (1100 GHz)!
- the base price per GHz-Hour is 34% lower! ($0.19 / 0.13 €)... and this is without the discount for pre-paid subscriptions (up to 30%)
- the RANCH web site and the Renderfarm User Guide have been updated, and all the benchmarks redone.

And as always, everything is automated, you can send your project 24/24 from your web browser, and use the system as if you had a single supercomputer at your fingertips...

See you on the RANCH!
