I can see that the wizard gives two options:
a) Normal, and b) Clear
I see that the first is a single layered material while the other is a two layers material, but cannot see the diference in the preview.

Sorry to break up the fun but I used AGS for the first time the other day and noticed that neither looked different. The clear has a ghost layer but adjusting it (even turning it completely off) seemed to look no different at all. So I guess I have the same question too...maybe I missed the explanation in the Manuel. If so, sorry!

I just checked and the clear AGS formula is working as it should -- to make the material more transparent you increase the opacity of the "ghost" layer (effectively making it invisible).

A while ago a did many tests under sunlight (which would be the most typical application of AGS) and I found the clear formula to be a better overall match to real glass (than traditional AGS)-- but your mileage may vary.

Best,
Jason.

Normal AGS reflects the light in given % and let the remaining % pass through which is physically more correct. Clear AGS also reflects the light in given % and always let 100% of it pass through which is actually not physically correct but, it's a quick workaround to fake clear glass better than the normal method. Because, real glass produces internal reflections which are generally missing in AGS. So, the clear model adds the reflections on a ghost layer for boosting the look.

One more question about AGS.
It seems that te colour is asigned in the reflected light, but not in the transparency.
Is that right?
In such a case is it possible to create a colour AGS with white reflections?
