I've installed new 2.7
I use Sketchup as my 3D modeller
I export file and I have rendered within Sketchup and receive the error
I open the .MXS file in studio and get the error upon rendering
The error occurs right after voxelation
It occurs with and without the grass modifier which I've tried to run
I uninstalled and re-installed the full 2.7 package onto my computer
It occurs on both my 32bit and 64bit workstation

Error:
Runtime Error!
Program:C;\Program Files\Next Limit\Maxwell 2\maxwell.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an
unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

This error is typical for an out-of-memory scenario. On your 64-bit machine, did you install 32-bit Maxwell Render or 64-bit? If 64-bit, the path shown in the error on your 64-bit machine should likely point to C:\Program Files, while for 32-bit Maxwell Render, it would probably point to C:\Program Files (x86).

I typed the error from the 32 bit laptop computer. It has 3Gb of RAM seen (has 4Gb installed and using Vista 32bit)
I was getting the same runtime error on the 64 bit desktop when I tried to render with the grass modifier.
The desktop has 8Gb of RAM.
I was controlling the desktop remotely from my office laptop.

Running this evening at the workstation, the grass modifier is rendering from Studio.

Even with 8GB, you could run out of memory pretty easily, since blade density is defined as blades/m². I have 16GB, and have done this by accident in Cinema, for example, by changing export scale from cm to m, and forgetting that this single change would result in the generation of 10,000x as many blades. You could achieve a similar thing if you added grass to a relatively large ground plane -- I can do it by rendering 2000 blades/m² on a 100 x 100 m plane @ 7 points per blade. So if you see it again, you might want to open Task Manager and check how much memory is being used when it fails.
