hi, i´m new using maxwell render, i´ve got some questions,
can i use other 3d applications materials?
i can just use maxwell materials?
is there a way to move the sun like an object?

You can only use Maxwell materials but this shouldn't matter as they are so good, also there is a huge library of very good materials, of course you can use texture maps from other materials...
you cant move the sun like an object as it should be considered as part of the maxwell sky so it is essentially infinite distance away. You can control the position of the sun by location, time, latitude longitude etc.
You can disable the sun however and replace it with and object and emitter to act as the sun but remember that the sun should be so far away that the rays reaching your scene are almost completely parallel.

Standard Max materials are supported, although I don't recommend using them.

I was wondering to use the maps of the max materials, even the vray material ones.
I am used to work with maps, so it is a little difficult to me to use the maxwell materials.
I am sure that there is a way to do the things I could do with the maps with maxwell materials, but I need much more practice.
One more question: How can I round the corners of an object? I mean to soft the joint of two planes of one object to make it look less artificial.

You have to model it that way, there is no "round corners" shading trick for Maxwell.

By the way, is there a manual of the 2.7 version? I,ve found the 2.1 one, I don´t know if that is the last they have made.
