Might be just me, but I am having a problem with trying to adjsut the viewport to look at objects using the right-click menu and choosing "center selection" etc. It seems to move or rotate the object immediately. It sometimes causes Studio to crash, and often creates those moves but does not show them in the History and they are not undoable. It's driving me a bit crazy actually. Is this a bug?

Some vids showing the problem

I haven't been able to reproduce what you show in your screencaps yet, but I can do it using a simpler, though more specific, set of steps; give this a try:
  1. open Studio
  2. File > Library > objects > primitives > plane8x8
  3. navigate the camera to a convenient view of the plane
Next, select the plane and then repeat these two steps several times:
  1. pan the camera
  2. right click > Center Selection
If, in doing so, you do not touch the object manipulator, you should find that you are unable to observe the issue. However, if you:
  • left-click on the manipulator, then right-click > Center Selection, or
  • right-click > Center Selection, while the cursor is over the manipulator
In these two cases, you should reproduce the behavior. It appears that this is putting Studio into a "move object" loop, which is not being cleared properly by the invocation of the context menu. So could you please confirm that you see this behavior, and also let me know if you think it is playing a role in the examples you posted?

Thanks for looking into it JD.

I can confirm the behaviour with the right click, but was not really seeing it happen with the left-click then context option, unless I was over the manipulator.

I checked it against my file and it is the same problem, although I was able to undo it this time, whereas before it would not undo. Could be something different I was doing then, but not sure what.

Thanks again /b

I see a few suspect things going on. After issuing Center Selection, I no longer get the manipulator lighting up when I mouse over it; after clicking on the geometry once more, that starts working again. As to the left-click repro method, that is completely reproducible for me:
  1. deselect everything
  2. select the plane
  3. left-click, for instance, the blue square representing the XZ plane
  4. right-click, not over the manipulator, Center Selection
  5. I am in the move-object loop
Let's see if anyone else has more related cases. And I wouldn't bother looking for much consistency with undo on something like this -- the bookkeeping is getting screwed up internally, so undo working is a crapshoot. At least, if this angle is the major contributor, you may be be able to minimize occurrences in the meantime.
