I am doing some quick interior architecture studies and trying to keep the rendering time fast.
If I set up the scene to be lit with a HDR image and have the ceiling set to "hidden to global illumination", I can get good quick renderings. The only issue is the ceiling looks a bit flat with no shadows on it.
So, is there any way to create a material that will receive shadows but not cast them?
