An issue I've noticed after returning to maxwell.

In the past if I imported a design with 50 stones it would import into maxwell as 51 different objects that I then had to group together the 50 stones as 1 group and the shank as another. It was a bit of a pain but I'm not sure if it's worse now since I can't select the ring AND diamonds and import it because it will import as one single object! Soooo if I want to import a ring with 50 stones I would need to export just the shank and then the stones as a different obj.

Now just imagine if I wanted 5 different color stones. I would need to import the shank as one obj then 10 stones then import another 10 stones then import another 10 stones and so on and so on. Was this their idea of making things easier or am I missing something??

I think it depends more on how the obj was created. What modeling application do you use?

I use 3design. Also just to note it used to work just fine but now after all these updates it does not? I used to be able to select 5 objects and import into maxwell and there I would have 5 separate objects to work with. The ONLY time I would have a single import was if the objects were booleaned together but now I can't even create my own custom scene in my design program anymore because it imports them as one part....!???

Are you sure it's not an export problem from 3Design? Maybe it is exporting "by material", or does it have any export options?
